ABS is a tough, rigid, and impact-resistant thermoplastic with excellent dimensional stability and surface gloss. It balances mechanical properties and processability well, making it standard for injection molding and 3D printing. Common applications include automotive interior parts, electronic housings, toys, and luggage shells. Through modification, ABS can be flame-retardant (V-0) for electrical enclosures, heat-stabilized for under-hood components, or UV-stabilized for outdoor use. Glass fiber reinforced ABS improves stiffness and creep resistance for power tool housings. ABS/PC blends combine heat resistance and impact strength for automotive bumpers and medical device housings. Electroplating-grade ABS allows decorative chrome finishing for faucets and trim parts. Anti-static and conductive grades are developed for cleanroom equipment and electronics packaging. Laser-markable ABS enables permanent traceability in industrial parts.
